This nationally registered historical home was built in the early 1800s and is a 35 minute scenic drive to downtown Charleston, Popular beaches and resorts, as well as many historical landmarks and parks. If you are looking for a place defined by natural beauty and Southern Charm, there is nothing closer to stepping back into history where times were simpler than the village of Rockville, South Carolina. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), big groups, and Pets. Bring your boat!
There is history around every corner in the house. The best part of the house in my opinion is the front porch, where I have spent hours reading in the hammock, sipping on sweet tea, and talking with friends and family. A weekend at the house feels like a week when you are in Rockville. Remember, this is a very old family home. With any old house you will find beauty, character, and many quirks. We use well-water which has a "pluff mud smell." If you are looking to book a modernly immaculate resort, try looking at Kiawah. If you want to experience simple and charming Southern Living surrounded by natural and historic beauty, this is the right place for you!
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests will have access to the entire house. The docks are privately owned by neighbors and are off limits due to liability as well as maintaining the residents privacy. I want to ensure that many people will be able to experience Rockville. Happy neighbors are important to keeping the house open to airbnbers!
Atención a los huéspedes
I live in North Charleston and am available if needed. I make trips out to the house on free weekends and during the week. I like to make sure I personally greet guests when they arrive if I can. I am also available by phone and email. I want to make sure guests get the full Rockville experience so I try to be as hands off as possible!

My current favorite restaurants to visit are on John's island and include Sweeneys, Wild Olive, and the Tattooed Moose. Yum
The nearest place to get groceries is Bi-lo on John's island (15 min drive) so make sure you stock up on the way to the house.
Outgoing tides are very strong
- Only guests who have booked and paid to stay at the home will be accommodated.
-This has been a family home for over a century and should be treated as your own with respect.
-Please no high heels or pointy shoes inside or on the porch.
-Please do not park vehicles in the front yard (front porch.) The septic tank could be an issue if someone accidentally parked on top of it.
- Please be mindful of our close neighbors who share the peace and quiet of the village.
- There are many antiques and family heirlooms to explore, but please be mindful ( especially if you choose to take advantage of the antique ping pong table!)
-The neighbor's docks are private and closed to to airbnbers
-Well behaved and house trained pets are welcome at an additional one time fee of $25 per pet. There will be a fee charged if there is excessive dog hair left behind (it takes a long time to clean for the next guests!)
-There will also be a fee if your pet poops, pees, or leaves any other presents in the house. I love our dogs and know accidents can happen sometimes, but it's no fun to find surprises!
-Have fun and relax!
My name is Liz, I'm 27 and I just graduated from the Citadel with my Master's in Psychology. I love working with children and hope to make that part of my career. I am a host that likes to make sure my guests are treated like family, and that they get the true southern charm experience. I also like to leave small gifts and surprises to welcome guests. My fiancé and I have two dogs, Kobe and Alphonse. We love to take them to Rockville and watch them swim and explore. Justin and I will be getting married in the back yard of the house that is listed in my profile at a church called Grace Chapel. I am so excited! I love video games, basketball, pizza and art.
