Mailander House, built in 1910, is close to The Silos (1.3 miles), Baylor, Cameron Park, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities and nightlife. You’ll love staying here because of the high ceilings, the kitchen, porches and decks, the comfy beds and the peaceful neighborhood. Mailander House is a great place to relax and unwind.

El lugar

The Mailander House has many many windows with lots of interior light. From sunrise to sunset there is a wonderful natural light that makes one feel like you are outdoors. Three large porches are available for enjoying morning coffee or watching the sunset.

Disponible para huéspedes

The entire house and garden/yard (1/3 acre) are available to our guests to enjoy as their own. There is plenty of on-and-off- street parking - even rooms for smaller RVs in the back.

Atención a los huéspedes

We are happy to meet with our guests, help with orientation, lead bike rides, and share our favorite restaurants, visitor sites and even a few choice local watering holes. Guests have also been know to go out to dinner with us at Sergios on a Saturday night. It's BYOB and we have fun!

Otros aspectos destacables

Mailander House is just a few minutes away by car from Baylor and the Magnolia Market Silos. A little secret is that bicycles have free parking everywhere and can slip past the long lines of cars at a football game or at the silos. We have bikes and are two blocks from the Brazos River Walk that leads directly to Baylor, the stadium, and downtown...

-Maximum occupancy four persons. The bathrooms are modest, being that they are about 100 years old, and we find that smaller groups work best.
- The Mailanders who built the house did not have children, and the house is NOT kid friendly in that it has many low windows with 100-year old single pane glass.
- We appreciate you respecting our neighbors by taking fun inside after 10 p.m.
- We have a fire station across the street, but they don't turn on the sirens near the house.
- We have bicycles for you to enjoy - provided by our friends at Welhous Bikes.

Aspectos que también debes tener en cuenta
Es necesario utilizar las escaleras - About three steps from sidewalk to door.

The house was a beautifully restored historic home only about a mile from downtown Waco. Dave gave us a tour of the house and some great history on the home and Waco. He gave us a lot of great local recommendations and all were spot on. The kitchen was completely outfitted with coffee and all the appliances you would need for a a meal. Dave left us with the basic needs plus thoughtful additions such as cheese, eggs and wine. Beds were comfy, sheets were soft and towels fluffy! The location is great, easy walk to the river trails and Cameron Park zoo.

We had a great visit to the Mailander House. Our host David greeted us, gave us a house tour then spent a great deal of time offering suggestions on things to do in the Waco area. He also provided a wonderful packet of helpful information pre check in. He provided his cell phone number for anything we needed and promptly returned messages. The house was well stocked, had a lot of amenities and was quite comfortable. You will love your visit!!!

Great place with some real character. Just a very cool place to stay if you want somewhere besides a boring hotel. Romantic, quaint, historical, clean, comfortable. It was everything we expected and more. Especially for what we were there to do and that is visit magnolia farms. Being in one of the original "Fixer Uppers" made it even better. Thanks David.

A lovely piece of Waco and Fixer Upper. The house was amazing, but I'm sure you've seen the show and already know that. David was delightful! It was easy to access all the fun Waco has to offer! I would absolutely stay again!
