Cottage on the beach

The cottage is right on the shore. It is self contained with a kitchen area and small bathroom. The twin beds, on a mezzanine floor, can be hooked up to make a super king-sized bed. Guests will have access to the beach and a garden area. Parking is on site. Although there is no washing machine, I can wash clothes for guests in my house which is next door. I live next door and will interact with guests as much or as little as they wish. I am usually at home, but if I am travelling I will arrange for a neighbour to keep contact with my guests. Coney Island is between Ardglass and Killough. There are shops and restaurants in both. It is under an hour from Belfast and within sight of the Mourne Mountains and Newcastle. Ardglass has a golf course and there are lots of opportunities locally for walking, fishing and watersports. Public transport is limited, but possible. There is a bus from Dublin airport with a connection to Downpatrick. There is a bus from both Belfast airports with connections to Downpatrick, about six miles from Coney Island. If I am home I will pick up guests from Downpatrick. Taxi fare is around £10. The upper floor is accessible to able bodied adults and children, but would present problems to anyone with mobility problems. (See Pic)

Ardballan Lodge

Located on the grounds of the hosts home and a 5 min drive to the beach, this property consists of 2 bedrooms 1 dbl, 1 twin upstairs. Kitchen, living room and shower room on ground floor. 5 mins drive to Seagrave’s (wedding venue), Port (Blue Flag) beach & Salterstown swimming Pier. 10 mins drive from M1 via Dunleer, 1 hr approx Dublin Airport ( traffic depending). 1hr 30 mins, Belfast. Please note, no oven/washing machine, electric hob & microwave available. Panoramic views of the east coast.

Newly refurbished Northern Ireland Tourist Board Certified 1 bed self catering cottage attached to our house (cot is also available on request). Private courtyard and decking area ideal for a coffee in the sun or an alfresco dinner with BBQ facility. The cottage is situated on a small holding, with countryside views. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is available to the front of the property. We are a 20 min walk from Knockinelder Beach & 5 min drive (30 min walk) to Portaferry village.

Only minutes from Slieve Donard and Newcastle beach. The Guest House situated in the centre of Newcastle, Co. Down. It is ideal for walkers and ramblers. It can accommodate up to 2 adults on a sofa bed (plus one child in a camp bed). Accommodation is dog friendly. Facilities include shower, TV, electric fire, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, toaster and washing machine. A basket of local homemade bread, cereals, milk and fruit is provided on arrival. Bicycles can be hired on request.

Located 5 minute drive to the picturesque villages of Blackrock and Castlebellingham. Set in a peaceful garden setting of the original farm house which dates back to 1852. The newly refurbished area provides a light airy space with fully fitted kitchen, lounge area, small mezzanine area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Extra rooms are available on request. Guests have their own entrance, parking and outdoor seating area. Guests have full use of the garden, play area and hammocks.

Despite our seclusion, we are just 15 minutes from the M1 motorway, 1 hour from Dublin and within easy reach of the major historical sites of Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan.
