Ubicada en el corazón del pueblo tradicional de Malia, esta auténtica casa cretense combina historia, comodidad y carácter — una verdadera escapada para quienes buscan algo más que una simple estancia. Construida completamente con piedra y madera locales, la vivienda ha conservado su esencia original, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo todas las comodidades modernas. Los gruesos muros de piedra mantienen la casa fresca durante los meses de verano, mientras que la cálida decoración interior refleja el espíritu atemporal de la vida cretense. Los muebles, los detalles hechos a mano y las texturas naturales crean un ambiente acogedor y hogareño. La casa cuenta con dos dormitorios con cama doble, uno de ellos en un altillo de madera sobre la sala de estar, una cocina totalmente equipada y un baño bellamente renovado, así como aseos independientes para cada dormitorio. También dispone de un balcón privado en la primera planta donde podrá disfrutar de su café bajo la buganvilla o de una copa de vino cretense al atardecer, además de un patio compartido con nuestra casa de huéspedes. Se encuentra en un barrio tranquilo del casco antiguo, a pocos pasos de tabernas tradicionales, panaderías y pequeñas tiendas — todas llenas de auténtica hospitalidad cretense. A diferencia de la zona turística moderna, esta área se mantiene fiel a sus raíces. El mar está a solo 15 minutos a pie, ofreciendo la combinación perfecta de autenticidad y relax junto al mar. Ya sea una pareja en busca de una escapada romántica, un viajero en busca de inspiración o una familia que desea vivir la “verdadera Creta”, la Casa Danae ofrece una experiencia cálida y única. Aquí el tiempo fluye más lentamente, las tradiciones cobran vida y cada piedra tiene su propia historia que contar. Revamped Minimalist Stone Country House

Nestled on the foot of mount Giouchtas, in the picturesque village of Archanes, our stone countryhouse is located in one of the most central and beautiful parts of the area. Archanes are 20 minutes away from the centre of Heraklion(15km), 15 minutes away from Heraklion's International airport, 15 minutes away from the famous Minoan palace of Knossos, as well as 20 minutes away from numerous beautiful beaches. Situated in the center of the most important wine-producing region of Crete, it has a 5000 years old history, while excavations conducted in the last 50 years have brought to light a lot of sites dating back to the Minoan period. The village is also very famous for its typical Cretan architecture. Most of the houses have been restored recently and Archanes has won the second award as “the best restored village in Europe”. The house enjoys a spacious interior and a private garden, which is protected by a peripheral wall. This is a typical characteristic of old Cretan houses of the area. Guests enter the private garden through the gate which then leads to the main building. I am always at the disposal of my guests, so that I can make their holiday problem-free. Archanes is 20 minutes away from the center of Heraklion and beaches. I always recommend to my guests a car hire, so that they can enjoy their holidays by visiting plenty of places each day. Furthermore, there is a free parking very close to the house. The country house is only 20’ away from the “Nikos Kazantzakis Airport” and the port. The archeological site of Knossos is 15’ away.

The house consists of 3 bedrooms with a smart TV for each one, whose tranquility provides a peaceful environment to achieve the ultimate relaxation. All of them are equipped with ensuite bathrooms. Its spacious outdoor area serves as an extension of the pleasure that one can indulge, starting from a private cozy terrace that offers both mountain and sea views and pampers its guests. On the roof there is an extra terrace combined with the heated jacuzzi and an open-plan living room that promises moments of relaxation with unlimited views. A private spot, for the upper floor apartment, that lets its guests take full advantage of the Greek sun and get a bronze tanning.
