It has all you would need after a long day of skiing, sightseeing or whatever you are interested in doing in the beautiful North-Iceland. Take a dip in the hot tub or just relax on the couch in front of the TV. A nice swimming pool is only 250 meters away, with water slides, hot tubs, sauna, and a gym. Nordic ski tracks are just 25 meters away and two famous ski areas are 15 minutes drive in each direction.

'Smiðjan' the Smithy has been lovingly restored focusing on original aesthetics and comfort. It is situated at the edge of a small industrial area where you can enjoy absolute privacy and not worry about neighbours. This nice cottage is situated in the middle of a beautiful valley, with no neighbors disturbing you. You have a sea view to the north. A stream with waterfalls and rapids down through the valley. The hut is also a good base for skitouring and moutain hiking (many trails in the area) and horse riding. We offer horse riding for additonal fee. We can ride a calm tour with beginners or a bit faster with more experienced riders. Horse riding is mostly available from May till September.

Most nature attractions in central south Iceland are within 95 minute drive from us. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Iceland on 140 hectares of land, in between the two big glaciers in the south Vatnajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Our place is accessible by any car in normal summer conditions.
