The land has been transformed. Fissure 8 and the hardened lava flow is a 10- minute walk from our home. This is destruction & creation; We and the surrounding community of Puna have been transformed by this experience Our guests leave restored and in awe of the magic of this area.

Stunning Ocean Views - Whale House Hawaii

Located on a quiet peninsula of Keaau, in the Hawaiian Paradise Park sub-devision, just outside of Hilo, the Whale House is a stand-alone residence for one guest, families or group. A truly unique house built directly on top of an ancient lava flow. Unlike all other houses in the area, a tractor did not level the lava to build a structure. The Whale House is constructed entirely on original, untouched lava flow just yards from the Pacific Ocean.

This quiet mountain hide-a-way offers peace and serenity in a rural location close to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Just a short drive to nearby Pāhoa, Keaʻau, or Hilo to explore all Puna has to offer.
