We will meet in the small park beneath the Pile gate. We will start with few words about the very beginnings of Dubrovnik, and you will get to know how this small city became an independent republic. We will enter the Old Town's main street, Stradun, but soon enough we will get lost in the shades of picturesque side streets where you can really feel the uniqueness of this city. We will cross the main square Luža that was administrative and religious center of the former Republic. Then, once again, we will take the small streets to get away from the crowds and to discover what we were ready to do to keep our Republic safe and independent. After visiting the old harbour we will get to enter one of few renaissance palaces that endured the ravages of time, where you will experience how people used to live inside the Walls, and how they live today. After tasting some homemade sweets and drinks, we will finish our tour in one small hidden beach just beneath the city walls and enjoy the view of the open sea. The tour is meant to be easy going, fun and educational. Throughout the tour we will keep all our senses fully switched on in order to really see, feel, touch and taste this unique city. By booking this tour you are supporting the local community and in the end you might even get a small homemade souvenir to take home :)
Dear all, my name is Ana. I was born and raised in Dubrovnik (OK, raised partially on the island of Mljet, so my granny doesn’t get offended). I moved to Zagreb to go to college, and in a month I will officially become an Italian teacher. I was always proud about where I came from and about the turbulent history that made us what we are today. Since I couldn’t stop talking about it, all of my Zagreb friends learnt that my Town was an independent republic, that we were among the first to recognize the USA, why we were forbidden to make any big decisions when south-east wind called Jugo would blow and much more. Finally, I became a licensed tour guide for Dubrovnik, to stop harassing my friends with fun facts and to share with you, world travelers, my passion for this “heaven on Earth”, as George Bernard Shaw called it.

Even though we are starting the tour in the evening, when the sun is not so hot, a bottle of water will come in handy. Also a pair of comfortable shoes :)
