This experience is perfect for those wishing to get in a good workout and see the sights along Montreal's famous Lachine Canal! Each location where we stop along the Canal has been thoughtfully picked to allow us both beautiful views, as well as space and equipment to use for our workout. WARM-UP: We'll get our heart-rate up with a brisk-walk or jog to the first workout location, where we will continue with active stretching and warm-up exercises (10-15 min). WORK-OUT: We will alternate periods of A) exercises for upper body, lower body, and core muscles, with B) light-jogging/brisk-walking to the next work-out location. Exercises will be adjusted for your fitness level, and of course, you are always free to take a break when you need one! (45-50 min). COOL-DOWN AND STRETCHING: To ease tight muscles and relive stress that travelling can create, we will end our work-out with a full body stretch, leave you feeling refreshed and ready to continue exploring Montreal (15 min)! I believe in staying active even while you travel! As a certified Group Fitness Instructor and licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) who has been in the field of health sciences for over 15 years, I am experienced in leading fitness classes, adapting exercises and catering to all levels. I am both a fitness teacher for the YMCA (Circuit training, Bosu, Core Conditioning) and a full time OT at a local hospital. I know first-hand the value of a healthy mind and a healthy body! I like to ensure proper form in order to prevent injury, while still getting the desired workout. Being a Montreal resident for the past 12 years, I thoroughly enjoy outdoor workouts, especially along the Lachine Canal and I’m excited to share my enthusiasm for living and being active in nature with others. We will workout along the Lachine Canal, the 3rd most beautiful urban circuit in the world as per Time magazine. Starting in Griffintown, Montreal's up-and-coming gastronomical centre, we will make our way through St Anne's Park, St Patrick Park, and St Gabriel Locks. We'll end Madeleine-Parent Park, steps from Atwater market and Rue Notre Dame's many cafes and restaurants (nearest metro: Lionel-Groulx).
