After we collect you from Baldock Station and bring you back to our 15th century cottage we can discuss your expectations for the day and work out the best type of horse for you. Over a welcoming drink you can tell us your riding experience; we pay serious attention to evaluating the characters of each rider as we aim to provide you with the ideal equine partner for your day with us.
Having signed a disclaimer and had a hat fitted you’ll lead your prospective horse in from the field, and be shown how to (nominally) groom, tack up and do ground work. After mounting (comfortable saddles) there’s a 45/50 minute lesson outside on paths or fields then a home made lunch so you can relax and process what you’ve learned, followed by another 45/50 minute hack out.
We can go as slowly as you like, you won’t be pushed out of your comfort zone! Forgive us in advance for putting the horses’ happiness first :-) - but your experience of viewing the world through the ears of a willing happy horse could start you on a really wonderful equine adventure.
If you’re an experienced rider we might ride to a pub where there’s a small paddock for the horses to graze. Afterwards riding back to the farm where the goats will greet you like long lost friends (especially if you've brought them back a cold chip!)
