Stone House - Joy River Backpackers

The Stone House is self-catering and contains, in the main bedroom, one double and one 3/4 bed with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, bath and shower. The lounge, with a fireplace, contains a single bed and couch. Bedding is provided and mosquito nets. Joy River Backpackers is situated at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. A genuine African village experience, rustic & laid-back atmosphere prevails and the buildings blend serenely into that of the village. The water is potable.

Located only 5 minutes from the Voi railway station (SGR) in a beautiful rural setting, this property borders the Voi sand river and has stunning views of the Taita hills to the west. A very convenient stop-over 5 minutes off the Nairobi/Mombasa highway and set in 4 acres of secure grounds with plenty of shady trees and gardens. 10 minute drive from the town centre of Voi with access to banks, supermarkets and fresh vegetable market. 15 minutes to the world famous Tsavo East National Park.

This also applies to any other activities guests may choose to do while staying in the house, such as hikes, visits to local communities, etc. This 4-bedroom house is a beautiful breezy property with an upstairs lounge with a great view over the Tsavo ecosystem. Delightful eco cottages just outside Shela

Terrific breeze, bird songs, coconut palms, ocean sounds from across the dunes, an outside tub and amazing stars at night. You're living in nature! Tucked away at the foot of one of Shela's majestic dunes you find these eco friendly cottages. Walk to the beach or Shela village in 10 minutes. The cottage has 1 bedroom. When you stay with 2 people or more you can use the second cottage. Wonderful housekeeper and caretaker on site.
