Welcome to Ōmishima! Benton Guesthouse is a former abandoned 'akiya' lovingly renovated into our Shōwa-era private full-house rental. Our house is furnished 'natsukashii' nostalgic style, in the 'inaka' Japanese countryside, conveniently located in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido island chain. 7-minute drive to Oyamazumi Shrine. 7-minute drive to Tatara Bridge (to Ikuchijima). 10-minute drive to Ōmishima Bridge (to Hakatajima). 7-minute walk to Idahachiman Shrine. 10-minute walk to the beach.

Near-by sightseeing spots: Mt.Kurotaki, Kaguya-hime museum, Preservation district of important historical buildings in Takehara city. Optional dinner is available at cafe area with extra charge. 呉と尾道の中間、海沿いに位置する竹原市。 宿はJ R竹原駅より徒歩13分、広島空港より車で20分の「たけはら町並み保存地区（国の重要伝統建造物群保存地区）」中心にある、江戸時代築の２階建て・離れ・中庭つきの一軒家です。 朝・夜は人通りがほぼなく、江戸時代の町にタイムスリップしたような静かな時間を過ごすことができます。 ２階の広いフリースペースは天井の梁を贅沢に見せる広い空間で、窓からは町並みの通りが見渡せます。２階の中庭に面したお部屋からは、竹原のランドマークでもある普明閣を望むことができます。 オーガニック素材にこだわってアートリノベーションした空間では、様々な箇所でオンリーワンのアートが楽しめます。 お風呂は特に一番のこだわりで、山形県の職人による手捻りの焼き物浴槽で、アーティストであるオーナーが絵付けをしています。漆喰で丸く仕上げた壁にはホーローのアート。床には淡路島の鮮やかな青いタイル。 壁には広島の牡蠣殻を使用した瀬戸漆喰。部屋ごとに異なる壁に。床板は丹波篠山の檜100%使用。たたき土間、土壁・漆喰塗り、床板はり、全てDIYのぬくもり溢れる空間に仕上がっています。
